In August 2023, a devastating fire affected Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. The Catholic parish there is named after the Blessed Virgin Mary, specifically Our Lady of Victory, in Hawaiian that is “Maria Lanakila”.
The head of the pastoral council at this parish and his wife helped organize a Eucharistic Miracles display there in March 2023, as you can see from the image below, before both the church and rectory were spared from this devastating fire. This parish also offers the Latin Mass. The New York Post reported: “Historic Lahaina church miraculously untouched by Maui wildfires that killed 80”.
Within days after the fire, the pastor was able to gain access to the rectory and the church and reported that there was no fire damage inside the church and that even the flowers inside the church have not sustained any damage. It is quite amazing that the grass is still green!
Please continue to pray for the Lahaina community.
