2020 NORTH AMERICAN PARISH ADORATION STATS
Some of the pre-Covid churches and chapels with Eucharistic Adoration were listed on the Real Presence Association Directory at this link in 2022 (which had not been updated much since around 2020 and is not being updated).
Ora Cor Adoration is working on an updated list. Search tools using artificial intelligence have become of more assistance – you can send your updates to: Ora Cor Adoration. Individual parishes would need to be tracked to provide a current stats which is a full-time and ardous process.
In the USA, in February 2020 before Covid, about 8512 adoration sites were listed, including 814 that had round the clock perpetual Eucharistic adoration. In 2025 based on same stats available, out of the total of 17,500 Catholic parishes in the United States, 51% (9000 parishes) have no Eucharistic adoration, 44% (7700 parishes) have some Eucharistic adoration, and 5% (800 parishes) have perpetual Eucharistic adoration.
In Canada, in 2020, according to these stats, we are aware of 592 adoration sites, including only around 30 with round the clock adoration and the rest with partial perpetual adoration or some minimal hours of Eucharistic adoration. 393 of these sites are in Ontario, including 19 of the 30 full 24×7 adoration sites. As of late 2020, there were approximately 3,881 Catholic parishes in Canada. In 2020, while exact numbers are difficult to determine and based on the data that was reported in the Real Presence directory of adoration sites which was outdated, it is estimated that only 15% (592/3881) parishes or adoration sites in Canada offered some form of Eucharistic adoration. The remaining 85% of Canadian parishes did not have regular weekly adoration. 66% (393/3881) of the adoration sites are located in Ontario, including 63% (19/30) of the perpetual adoration sites.

ACTION ITEM: HAVE AN ADORATION SIGN-UP TO INVITE MORE PARISHIONERS TO ADORATION
Parishes are encouraged to offer hours of exposition of the Blessed Sacrament even if there is only one or two people per hour, which could be the parish priest. “Don’t count the sheep, feed them.” In some parishes that have adoration, only 7% of parishioners are participating regularly. There is untapped potential with 93% not encountering this great grace.

Parish priest and parishes are encouraged to invite and ask all parishioners to adore regularly and take a weekly holy hour. See: Schedule Your Adoration Sign-Up weekend/Organization/Sign-Up campaign
2022 NORTH AMERICAN WEEKLY MASS ATTENDANCE STATS
According to a studies by Pew Reseach centre in 2015, only 25% of baptised Catholics stated they are attending Sunday Mass regularly, 75% are lapsed fallen away Catholics. In 2025, 29% of US Catholics reported they attend Church weekly or more often. 10 facts about U.S. Catholics | Pew Research Center
In 2023, other data shows 17% of adult Catholics in Canada attended Mass weekly. On a normal Sunday, between 15 and 25 percent of Canada’s Catholics attend Mass (15 per cent weekly attenders and another nine per cent monthly).
Clearly, Catholics have not been catechized or need to be reminded that it is mortally sinful to miss attending weekly Sunday obligation Mass.
ACTION ITEM
All parishes are encouraged to reach out and invite back all to return to Mass and to spend time in Eucharistic adoration. The Good Sheperd seeks out the one lost sheep and carries it on his shoulders back to the fold. Resources:

ADORATION NEEDS TO BE PROMOTED MORE IN EVERY DIOCESE AND PARISH!
Obviously, having adoration once a month on the First Friday only in these times, considering the dire situation of lapsed Catholics and the pleas of Our Lord, Our Lady, the Church, popes and saints for parishes to have more adoration is not enough! If we want to win the battle for souls, we desperately need more adoration. Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen called for a daily holy hour! Please expand and offer more!
As you can see, adoration needs and should be promoted by every bishop, diocese, pastor and parish and religious community. There is a tremendous potential that has been untapped and is missing out on the graces of Eucharistic and perpetual adoration.
We pray that every bishop, diocese, pastor, clergy, religious and the laity will do all they can to increase the number of parishes and Christian communities with Adoration!
