A massive revival of love and adoration for Jesus in the Most Holy the Eucharist is advancing!
Eucharistic adoration and Holy Communion are needed for this revival!
Bishop Andrew H. Cozzens announced in his live interview at a virtual Eucharistic Conference on June 4, 2021, that the USCCB are planning a National Eucharistic Revival to renew the Church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
The strategic plan called “Created Anew by the Body and Blood of Christ, Source of Our Healing and Hope,” to touch the Church at every level!
- Year 1, June 2022-23: Diocesan revivals – engage all apostolates to focus on this in every diocese, formation for priests, parish & adult leaders
- Year 2, June 2023-24: Parish revivals – small study groups in every parish and encouraging Eucharistic adoration
- Year 3: National Eucharistic Congress – forming 100,000 Eucharistic missionaries, a band of joyful missionary disciples…
“Plans call for diocesan revivals to be held from July 2022 to June 2023, the first year of the three-year effort. There will be formation events for priests, as well as parish and young adult leaders.
“National catechetical organizations will provide online training to form lay eucharistic missionaries for parishes.”
A national corps of Eucharistic evangelists, both ordained and lay, will be formed to lead diocesan and parish events.
“Other events during this first year will include diocesan days of adoration and reconciliation in Catholic schools and parishes; Corpus Christi celebrations; diocesan Eucharistic congresses — with both in-person and virtual dimensions; and diocesan-wide days of Eucharistic evangelization and service.
“The second year is for parish revivals, from July 2023 to June 2024, with online training for small group leaders in every parish; catechetical resources available in video and print for small group formation sessions for all ages “and stages of faith”; continued collaboration with renewal movements and apostolates “to animate” parish Eucharistic activities; and “teaching Masses,” adoration initiatives, sacramental confession and Corpus Christi celebrations in parishes.
“Eucharistic missionaries will be trained and sent out to evangelize and serve those in need.”
National Eucharistic Congress
“The Committee for Evangelization and Catechesis is coordinating the effort to explore, plan and execute a National Eucharistic Congress. Declining Mass attendance, the lack of understanding of the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and increasing religious disaffiliation are major challenges facing the Church today. The committee has recognized that the return to the Eucharist as the “source and summit” of who we are and what we do as Catholics is key to revitalization. Such a renewal would require work at every level of Church: the parish, the diocese, the region, and the nation—to reevaluate all of her activities from the celebration of the Mass and the preaching of a homily to its ministries, social programs, evangelization of the unaffiliated, and advocacy in the public square. The framework for developing programs and resources will follow the three great transcendentals to provide formation in these crucial areas: Catechesis and Apologetics (Truth); Devotion and Worship (Beauty); Conversion and Mission (Goodness). By first focusing on best practices for parish-based renewal around the Eucharist and then sharing recommendations for diocesan and/or regional Eucharistic conferences, these diocesan and regional initiatives could then lead to a national event in 2024 to inspire participants to return to their parishes and dioceses with a renewed Eucharistic focus as they proclaim the Gospel through the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.”

“The committee is also committed to support and accompany the various communities through the numerous congresses and gatherings, whether virtual or in-person, that convene and strengthen the various communities. Following the theme for the 2021-2024 USCCB Strategic Plan, Created Anew by the Body and Blood of Christ: Our Source of Healing and Hope, this Committee is also fully involved in the planning of a Eucharistic revival process that hopes to reconnect the faithful with the Eucharist and to their baptismal call.” https://www.usccb.org/committees/cultural-diversity-church/springsummer-newsletter-2021-chairmans-reflection
Most Reverend Andrew Cozzens, Auxiliary Bishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, was elected on November 12, 2019, by members of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as the new chair of the Committee on Evangelization and Catechesis.
After the election, “Bishop Cozzens said, ‘I’m humbled and honored that my brother bishops in the USCCB would choose me to chair the Committee on Evangelization and Catechesis. This Committee deals with some of the most pressing issues of our time: How do we evangelize the growing number of those who have left behind organized religion? How do we evangelize our youth so they never leave the Church? And, how do we form our people into the missionary disciples the pope has called them to be? We must dedicate ourselves to these essential needs of the Church in our day, because as St. Paul VI said, ‘The Church exists to evangelize!'” https://www.archspm.org/bishop-cozzens-elected-to-chairmanship-of-usccb-committee-on-evangelization-and-catechesis/
